#4 Ogami Developer Update
Greetings!
In our last Developer Update, we mentioned that we are undergoing a complete overhaul of the logic side of Ogami Conquest. Since then, we worked on several flow charts and the overall architectural aspect of the game. Today’s dev blog will therefore focus on the technical side of Ogami Conquest!

Matchmaking System
Ogami Conquest will be split into seasons and have a competitive matchmaking system. Every season will last around 2 months and off seasons will last around 2 weeks. Within each season, a player will be competing with others in matchmaking games to climb in ranks. We will use an MMR system as well as visible representations of ranks with corresponding names to each rank. Every player will start with an MMR of 1.000 per season. Every win will give 20 MMR points and every loss will deduct 15 MMR points.
As mentioned before, each MMR point will have a corresponding rank. For example, the starting point of 1.000 MMR will be Sapphire, 750 and lower will be Topaz, an MMR of 1.250 will mark Emerald, and so on until the last rank (these are not final numbers). The higher your MMR is, meaning the higher you are on the leaderboard the more rewards you will get! Rewards can be claimed during off-seasons. What kind of rewards there are will be presented next month in our whitepaper version 2.0!
Fun fact, in the latest whitepaper version (1.3), Onyx isn’t featured! That’s how it looks. What do you think?
Architecture & Flow Charts
We have worked on several flow charts such as attack, AI target detection & attack range, movement, and so on. Below you can see an attack flow chart for our current demo. All of these charts below are already implemented and currently being tested.
Please keep in mind that these flow charts are likely to be changed/updated and represent a snapshot of our current development stage. Also, don’t forget we didn’t start full-time development yet!
And here are two flow charts for movement within the current state of Ogami Conquest. There are two methods of movement, one is using the touchscreen of a mobile device (clicking on the ground or on targets) and the other one is by using the in-game joystick. The first one represents the movement via touchscreen and the second flow chart represents the movement with the joystick.
New Website, Whitepaper 2.0 & Company Establishment
May will be a historic month for Ogami Conquest and the team. We will not only publish our new website alongside a new and improved whitepaper but also establish our company. The whitepaper 2.0 will feature great new stuff and concepts, which we cannot wait to show to you. The website, the new whitepaper, and the introduction of our newly formed company will be published simultaneously!
